Packet Pick Up is at 1:00 PM. Race starts at Gunstock Mountain Resort, Gilford, NH. Saplings aged 8-13 will be eligible to participate in the TimberKids Triathlon. The race will feature a 50 yard swim, a 2 mile bike, and a .5 mile run. All TimberKids will receive a t-shirt and a special TimberMedal! The event is NOT at Ellacoya, but at Gunstock, on Saturday. The age groups will be broken down into ages 8-10 and 11-13. Juniors 14 years old and older may participate in the adult triathlon.
The Courses:
Swim: The 50 yard is in the protected, calm Gunstock Pond, and is a triangle swim. There will be buoys and lifeguards present to help your child. To further aid the TimberKids, it will be a time trial start, beginning with the older kids. Each participant will begin their swim individually. To further safety, we will start the next swimmer once the previous swimmer is far enough along on the swim. If a particular swimmer is slower, we will wait to begin the next swimmer. In a change from 2007, the race will NOT be competitively timed. This is supposed to be a FUN event, not competitive.
Bike: The bike is a 2 mile out-and-back course. It will be held entirely within the Gunstock Mountain Resort grounds. The course is mostly flat, with a short incline near the end.
Run: The .4 mile run is a protected loop around the Gunstock Pond. Most of it is on hard-packed trail, with no traffic.

TIMBER CAMP @ GUNSTOCK MOUNTAIN RESORT 2008
As of now we are accepting names for a waiting list only for
Timber Camp. Parents can call Robin and leave a message to get their
child(ren) on the waiting list at 603-293-4341 x 151. We do have
cancellations and some no-shows so there is a chance their child may get
in. If parents are hoping to get their child in the program when they
arrive they will need to bring a “Health Assessment” form signed by their
physician. All other paperwork can be completed upon arrival and
acceptance into the program. Robin is working with Jonah now to see if we
can get all of the documents on line to make it easier for folks.
